Samuel Orekoya currently heads the Board Secretariat and Legal Unit responsible for legal oversight of the Institute.
He manages duties like contract drafting, legal advice, board meetings and affairs, company documents, as well as vendor registration. As Company Secretary and Legal Officer, he also facilitates Board of Directors meetings and advises management on corporate governance and compliance issues amongst other duties.
Samuel is an experienced lawyer, arbitrator, project manager & Bid Specialist with a demonstrated history of working in the health, real-estate, information technology, services, media & communications industries. He is also skilled in board secretarial duties, organizational set-up and functioning, operations management, quality management systems (QMS – ISO 9001:2015) implementation oversight, crisis management, legal functioning, bid writing, and expert negotiations.
He possesses a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) and Master of Laws (LLM) focused in International Commercial and Dispute Resolution Law from the University of Bedfordshire, UK. He also possesses certification from China Agricultural University, China. Samuel has attended training for grants management, procurement & supply chain management; fire prevention, suppression, and safety. He has also undertaken Company Secretarial Courses in the United Kingdom. He is an Associate of the Nigerian Institute of Chartered Arbitrators and a Member of the Nigerian Institute of Management.
Samuel has a passion for youth, charity and skills empowerment and achieves this via service in Church and the Lux Mundi Leadership Institute.
